I am getting lots of links to my site which don't link my site!
-
Hi,
Site: http://www.solutionfocusedpolitics.wordpress.com
In my incoming links I am getting a log that every post from [referrer spam removed] is linking to my site and it is not. It has only just started a few days ago but it makes it hard to track who is linking to my site. How do I get it to stop linking to my site?
e.g. it says this link is an incoming link to my site [referrer spam removed] and it is not mentioned anywhere.
Any help much appreciated.
Matthew

That’s called Referrer Spam.

Hi macmanx,
thanks for the comment and I have read the post, so thanks. Can I just clarify this? libdemvoice.org is a site which does link to my site every now and again which is good for me as I like the site and so I trust the site and would like them to continue to link to my site. Do they have a problem with spamming? I can contact them and let them know if so as I am sure they are not doing it themselves.
Thanks

Oh, I apologize. That’s what I get for answering forum topics so late. ;)
Do you mean the Incoming Links section of your Dashboard’s main page, or the Referrers section of your Site Stats?

Oh, ok.
That particular section gets its incoming links from a Google query, so there’s always the change that it could be wrong or out of date.
The referrers in your Site Stats are usually more reliable (if you ignore the spam of course).
