I am getting Spammed by WordPress follow requests

  Over the last 15 minutes, my email account has been spammed with nearly 200 requests to follow a myriad of wordpress accounts that I did not request. Please help!

  Hi there,

  I can see there has indeed been a lot of follow confirmation emails to your address. This means someone who got hold of your email address have been manually adding it to the follow blog widget on multiple sites.

  I’ve asked someone who knows a bit about spam to look at this for me and see if there is any way we can prevent it, but as we haven’t had other reports this is most likely someone targeting you specifically. Either it’s someone you know who’s pranking you or it’s someone trying to annoy you.

  It does appear that it’s stopped for now, but we’ll look into this some more.
