I am having a problem keeping my two blogs separated.
-
I recently set up a second blog. It is a photography blog that will go with my main blog. I do not know how to keep the two separate though. I would like to respond to the very generous comments I am receiving on the photography blog under my new blogs name. Instead, my avatar comes up from my main blog and my main blog’s name as the identifier. This will confuse people, I am sure. When I go to comment on their blogs, again, it has my main blogs name, not my new blog. Would you please help me with this, as soon as possible? Here are my blog addresses:
Main blog: http://thesanctuaryofmyheart.com/
New secondary photo blog: http://ohthethingsweshallsee.wordpress.com/

Hi there, you would need to set up a different user account for the second site in order to have different information in your personal settings, like your URL and Display Name.
If you’d like to create a second user account, I’d be glad to transfer over one of the sites to it so the two are completely separated. Just let me know the username you choose and which site you’d like moved over.
Thanks!

Oh, thank you so much. I had a feeling that I should have done that to begin with once the confusion started. I apologize.
Yes, I would very much like to separate the two. The second one would be the one. It is the: http://ohthethingsweshallsee.wordpress.com/.
Would I be able to keep all the followers that have joined already? Or, would I be starting again from the beginning? I did already pay to have this set up. Would that still be in effect?

Would I be able to keep all the followers that have joined already?
Yes, absolutely. Nothing on the site would change except that it would be under the new account. Any upgrades you purchased for it would remain there.
Just let me know the new username once you’ve set up the account and I can make the ownership switch.

I thought I sent a reply…not sure if I did now. I am trying to set it up. I wanted to keep the same username of “ohthethingsweshallsee”. It is not letting me because I already have that name. It did let me claim the “ohthethingsweshallsee.com” website though. I am sorry to sound so hopeless…but as far as computers go….I am. :(

I can go ahead and create this new user for you if you give me another email address to use with it. The address needs to be one that’s not already in use on WordPress.com. Just let me know – the email won’t be visible to anyone but you and staff. Thanks!

Thanks! I’ve created the user ohthethingsweshallsee with the email you provided and transferred the site ohthethingsweshallsee.wordpress.com – as well its upgrades – to this new user.
You should receive an email with a temporary password at the same address. You can then log into the new account and set up your user settings, like URL and display name, and update the password.
Since you now have two accounts, you’ll need to be careful to log out of one first before logging into the other, to keep things behaving as expected. You might also want to use one browser for one account and one with the other if it’s easier.
Just let me know if you need anything else.
