I am having a problem with my avatar/gravatar appearing
-
Several times now, I have gone through the process of generating a picture for my gravatar. Still, it continues to display the simple, generic design I started with… completely faceless. If anyone has had this problem and can help me to successfully replace that pattern with a pic of my choosing, please let me know. Cranium.

It takes time for the gravatar image to appear.
May I also suggest you link your blog to your username through:
Dashboard > Users > Personal Settings > Scroll down to the bottom > and add your blog url to “Website” box > Save Changes -
I see an image of a face in the blavatar in the browser window next to your blog address so I assume this has been resolved. Is that so?

I am not sure yet. If it appears next to this reply, then I guess so. If not, then I am still not doing something correctly.

See here > Blavatar > You can upload a Blavatar by visiting Settings-> General in your blog.
Then see here > Gravatar > Visit Your Public Profile page and click on the link to Change your Gravatar.
Have you done both? Also note that the best practices for successfully uploading your Gravatar, Avatar and/or Blavatar images:
(1) Choose an image that does not have any transparency in it and scales both up and down in size without losing definition. Prepare the image prior to uploading it and make sure it’s 512 x 512 pixels or larger so it will look the best in the widest range of uses.
(2) The image filetype has to be either PNG, GIF or JPG. Make sure the file name contains only letters and numbers – no special characters – and make sure all letters are in lowercase.
(3) Also make sure the image file name has an extension (Example – image.jpg)
(4) Note that there is a time delay while your gravatar image propagates. If you are experiencing problems then go to the gravatar site and read the FAQs as it contains common questions and answers to them

bI also have the same problem. I already have the Blavatar working, and when I check the Gravatar page, its already using my uploaded image. However, every time I comment to other blogs, the same default photo is shown. here’s my blog

Have you noticed there are two sets of instructions?
Blavatar
Avatars » Gravatars Also note the latter is not retroactive.
