I am having problems editing a page's URL
-
I can’t appear to use the slug /i/ at the end of a URL in a page I have created.
I would like to have the url http://jannoble.co.uk/poetry/kickstarter-poems/i/
(pages with slugs such as -poems/iii/ and -poems/v/ exist and work fine.)
but when I edit the permalink a -2/ is always added to it.
http://jannoble.co.uk/poetry/kickstarter-poems/i-2/There is no other page with this url, published, in private or in the trash.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there,
I believe this is now working correctly. I was able to add a “ii” to the end of the URL as shown here:
https://jannoble.wordpress.com/wp-admin/post.php?post=3466&action=edit&message=1
Can you take a look and let me know if you’re still having trouble?

Hiya
I was also able to add a ii/ previously. And as have I mentioned I’ve already got a URL ending in iii/ but I can’t make a simple i/ ! Always gives me i-2/ when I press OK and update.
Thanks for your help!

Hi!
I’m sorry for misunderstanding! It looks like this post actually uses the “i” slug:
https://jannoble.wordpress.com/wp-admin/post.php?post=3483&action=edit
Can you try removing that post and then changing the page slug from “i-2” to “i” again and let me know if it sticks?

Hiya
I created that post just to see if an “i” slug would work. I have deleted it permanently now and still have the same problem – the page automatically adds “-2” to the end of “i”.
I have also tried deleting the page http://jannoble.co.uk/poetry/kickstarter-poems/i-2/ and creating a new one. However the new page also defaults to http://jannoble.co.uk/poetry/kickstarter-poems/i-2/
Just can’t appear to remove that “-2”
Perhaps a page of this URL was created and deleted but its ghost is still lurking somewhere in code and refusing to die.

Sorry for not realizing this sooner. The “i”-only slug cannot be used for pages. You can, however, use the “i”-only slug on posts due to the permalink structure.
