I am locked out of my account

    I have my username and my password. Now I am being asked for verifying my account with a phone number I no longer have because Telstra contract ran out and I released a ipadpro that I find is different to the other number so I can’t receive the verify number. It was a Samsung tablet so I rang Apple and they said that they do not except verification codes unless they are Samsung of google. To use messenger on Apple ipadpro you must send to messages via iPhone. You tell me what to do. Surely bloggers us WordPress and how and why do WordPress need the 2step verification going. After all the blogging and spending all that money I have lost my blog who else has this happened to.

    Hi there,

    1. Do you have a copy of the backup codes that generated generated when two step authentication was enabled on the account? If so, one of those can be used in place of an SMS code for now & access the account.

    2. If you’ve misplaced your log-in information, the email address or username you’ve entered isn’t recognized,and also you dont have backup code you can access your account using the Account Recovery Form which is accessible by clicking the “Need More Help?” button on the Password Reset page. On this form, you can provide certain pieces of information, under Proof of Ownership, to verify that you are the owner of the blog.
