I am looking to choose a .com for my page, but the only options given to me are .me .org or .net?

I would like to choose a .com for my page with an upgrade, but only choices given to me are .me, .org and .net. I don’t want to upgrade and pay to upgrade price if it won’t let me purchase the .com name. I didn’t choose the free site, or any yet, but something chose it for me giving me a WordPress.com site name. Would be so nice to have a place to ask these purchasing questions to someone working at WordPress rather than on forums where no one looks to be around.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

That would be my guess too, but right before choosing, it disappeared, it said it was indeed available. Now what would the chances of that happening be?

Do you think if it’s given me the free site with my chosen name as the .wordpress.com, that it has put aside the .com with my name for now as taken on WordPress? Maybe why it’s not showing?
