    Hi dlelsner,

    First let me say that I’m sorry for your loss. Please accept all my sympathy.

    As for your blog, there are many things you can do to find new readers and friends. Keep writing new posts, find other blogs which interest you and don’t be afraid to comment on them, write from your heart, and reach out to others.

    Your question is often asked in these forums, so I’ll give you an answer from my fellow volunteer. Her advice covers quite a few issues, so it will take you some time to work through them all. There is no quick and easy way, but in the end I hope that you will work through your grief and find new readers and friends.

    Thank you 1tess. I have just struggled trying to figure this out. I appreciate your help as well as your sympathy. I added another installment tonight it is number 18 in two months – while I show 1, 400+ views I don’t know if that is good or not???

    Hi dlelsner,

    Because you are asking for an opinion, I’ll say what I think. That number of views (1400) in a couple of months is pretty good if your blogging goal is to accumulate numbers. Numbers are great, especially large numbers when you are talking about $ bank deposits. :–}}}

    For a personal blog, though, I wonder if you are really looking and hoping for something else? Keep in mind that this is an opinion, so to me it appears that you are writing for other reasons than money or numbers. Only you can affirm that comments, contacts, or thinking and writing are most valuable to you. I’ve “met” quite a few people via my various blogs and treasure them much more than the numbers. All of this is related to the priorities you set for yourself. Think about what you want to accomplish and what you hope to do with your blog.

    Thanks again 1 tess – You are right – I am not looking for numbers – my goal is to honor my daughter in law ‘s memory and help – her personality was always to help. But, again, new at this – wondered if anybody was reading it and if it was doing what I wanted. Thanks for your help!!!

    As I said, just keep going. Keep writing.

    My mother-in-law died 16 years ago. She was a very remarkable person. She died suddenly, and unexpectedly. For a long time I’d have the impulse to call her to let her know about the latest news, then remember she had no phone number.

    There were hundreds of people at her funeral, many of whom neither my husband nor I had ever met. And the cards which other folks sent made it so clear that her life touched and changed so many lives.

    What I mean to say, and it’s probably not quite right for this forum (which usually is for technical advice), is that you simply need to keep going.

    Celebrate her life!

    We siblings, and siblings-in-law, her husband, cousins and friends, still talk about her with each other. We set up a scholarship fund in her memory. We even discovered some lost children (twin brothers to my husband and his sisters) because of that. Who knows how many people are still affected because she was here?

    As for your blog, I’ve given you my best advice! My mother-in-law was one of those rare and extra special people we have been blessed to know.

    So your blog, your posts about your daughter-in-law may bring you many things to continue to bless your life. Just keep going.
