  I have added categories but they are not visible on my index page .

  If the category is empty will it not be visible on the index,

  But if they are not visible how will someone post here

  first, you have to write a post. at the post thr is a sidebar that you can classify your post to put in whatever category you want. then only will your category be visible…

  For that theme you’ve got going at the moment, only your category becomes visible once you have told the posts to go into those categories.

  Some of the other themes show all categories regardless if they empty.
