I am not able to enable comments on my blog posts

  I am not able to enable comments on my blog posts. I have checked “Allow Comments”. It doesn’t work.

  Also, how to allow anyone to create an account and start a post?

  Hi there,

  If you want to allow comments on all posts, please go to Posts > All posts in your Dashboard. Then select all posts by checking the box left of “Title”. Then, go to the drop down menu labeled “Bulk Actions” and select “Edit”. Click on “Apply”, and you will see another dropdown menu next to “Comments”. Select “Allow”, and click “Update”.

  This should enable Comments on all the blog posts you checked off.

  Also, how to allow anyone to create an account and start a post?

  Anyone can create a WordPress.com account by visiting WordPress.com. There will be a link to start a new account.

  alright I see now.. Thank you! :) I didn’t realize I have to click on the post link to view the comment box for that post.

  Regarding creating a post, can anyone who has an account, create a new post/thread on my blog? Do you know if it is enabled right now for my blog?

  No that would not be possible. You can invite people to become users on your blog by going to Users > Invite new. Take a look at the user roles to see how much access you want people to have:

  However anyone can make a comment on your blog. You can view these setting by going to Settings > Discussion in your Dashboard.

  Hi Grace!

  One more question related to the comments. Can I make it more obvious to the visitor where to comment. Basically, can I make the comment box appear below each post on the main blog page without them having to click the post thread?

  Hi there,

  Unfortunately it would’t be possible to have comments on your main posts page because if you were to get say 100s of comments then it would be difficult for your readers to get to the next post.

  So what you can do is say to click on the post to comment or switch to the P2 theme:

  http://theme.wordpress.com/themes/p2/

  This theme is meant for blogs that are more discussion oriented.
