  Where exactly are you seeing this? You are an administrator on your site and therefore you have full control over it.

  why am i getting this file type is not allowed to upload for security reasons?

  Your site is on the Free plan and therefore you can only upload certain file types (images and documents). If you want to upload audio and video files, you’ll need to upgrade to the Premium, Business, or eCommerce plan. You can read more here:

  Hi,
  I have made site public since long time. I know I am admin still it didn’t allow to upload the verification file which we are supposed to download and upload in the header section. It was showing error after I added HTML or file block and uploaded.

  Then according to some other instructions I went into traffic and added the copied text from verification instructions and added and clicked save. Then I tried to paste the URL for sitemap and that was not accepted too.

  Can you please help out in checking if i am now verified?
  Is my site map correct? Do I still need to upload the HTML code because I am not allowed to upload anything or edit code.

  It is showing I am verified html tag verification is done.

  Please follow the instructions that @staartmees shared above to verify your site with Google Search Console. Make sure you follow all the steps correctly otherwise you won’t be able to complete the process.
