I am so confused!! WordPress.com or WordPress.org

    Hi! I am a new blogger, so bear with me! I set up my blog a couple of months ago, and I thought I did it as a self-hosted blog with Bluehost as my host. I am having trouble installing a RewardStyle plug-in, which has now raised the question of whether or not my blog is on WordPress.com or WordPress.org. When I log into my blog as an admin, the dashboard is black in appearance which I read is an indication that I am on WordPress.org; However, if I go to the WordPress.com site, I see ‘my site’ in the top left corner and it shows all of my blog details. Please help me figure out what I am on!

    Hello there, according to the site address you shared in your post, your site is indeed hosted on Bluehost.

    The reason why you’re able to see your self-hosted WordPress (WordPress.org) site on WordPress.com account is most probably due to the powerful feature of Jetpack that allows you to view your site stats and manage your sites using your WordPress.com account.

    You may treat your WordPress.com account as your one-stop station to view the statistics data from all your WordPress sites. But if you wish to install plugins, customize your self-hosted sites, you’re advised to do it on your self-hosted WordPress site’s Admin Dashboard.

    If you need help on the self-hosted WordPress site, you’re recommended to post your questions at the WordPress.org forum and seek help from the experts and volunteer members there. You may need to register an account if you don’t already have one.

    SO helpful! I was able to get my issue with the plug-in straightened out and figured out that I was set up the right way, but thank you so much for the response and helpful info! I appreciate it!
