I am still confused about WordPress.com vs. WordPress.org
-
Hi everybody, I am still confused about this. I know that I have a wordpress for my personal brand and a wordpress for my job. They both say WordPress but the dashboards look totally different. For the job’s blog, the dashboard is white and I have took the free domain name offered. For my personal brand, the dashboard is black and I brought my own domain and hosting. Can someone show me a screenshot of which is which?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi @hedinhouse, WordPress.com is a managed hosting service that offers security and support for paid plans, as well as hosting for free sites our subdomains.
WordPress.org is free software you can install with another hosting provider. If it helps, the difference is a bit like a restaurant and a recipe. Our service is based on the free software, but we add our own flair.
Since we’re providing a service (and therefore need to pay employees and cover our hosting expenses and what not), we also offer different plans:
https://wordpress.com/plansIf you’re seeing a mostly white screen, it’s likely hosted here with us, though you can still access the black-and-grey schemed wp-admin if you’d like, too: https://hedinhouse.home.blog/wp-admin would take you there.
Does that help?
