I am trying to delete a site because it keeps redirecting to a similar URL which I want to stand on
-
I accidentally set up a URL brokenboxdotorg1.wordpress.com which is redirecting to a site that I want to keep, brokenbox.org.
I have deleted brokenboxdotorg1.wordpress.com and want to make sure that brokenbox.org won’t go anywhere.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi!
Did you mean thebrokenbox.org by any chance? That domain is attached to your site thebrokenboxdotorg1.wordpress.com. In order to access your domain, you’ll need to keep thebrokenboxdotorg1.wordpress.com up and running. Did you want to use the domain thebrokenbox.org with another site?
-
Yes. Ideally I’d like to have just thebrokenbox.org.
Is there no way to disentangle the two domains?
The reason I’m concerned is that the website is intended to eventually be part of a serious, large-scale venture. I’ve not done anything like that before so I want to avoid mistakes in the beginning that might be problematic in the future. For example, is there any way in which having a URL like thebrokenboxdotorg1.wordpress.com which redirects to thebrokenbox.org could end up being a security issue?
Most importantly, I want users and customers to ONLY EVER see thebrokenbox.org.

Hi!
There is no way to use thebrokenbox.org at WordPress.com without having an accompanying .wordpress.com URL like thebrokenboxdotorg1.wordpress.com. That’s an identifier used for admin purposes at WordPress.com. It should not cause any security-related issues (or any other issues) for your site.
Most importantly, I want users and customers to ONLY EVER see thebrokenbox.org.
I promise! Provided you keep thebrokenbox.org registered, your customers will only see that domain.
