i am trying to install a petition widget
-
could someone explain how i get a petition widget into my blog?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Tell us about the widget and how it operates. If it uses forms or iframes, it can’t be used here. Ditto javascript and flash.
-
if i cannot run java script and i need to set up a petition, what do i do? do i leave wordpress? can wordpress add the widget for me? i love my blog, the services so far, but need to get this up.
please advise,
cyhere is the widget:
<script type=”text/javascript” src=”http://cdn.widgetserver.com/syndication/subscriber/InsertWidget.js”></script><script>if (WIDGETBOX) WIDGETBOX.renderWidget(‘5a0ef930-ab29-49eb-bfc6-10644e8c7d11’);</script><noscript>Get the ePetition Sign-up widget and many other great free widgets at Widgetbox!</noscript>

“Javascript”. There’s your problem: javascript is disabled on Wp.com for security reasons. It will not work. You need to find an HTML-only version.

There’s no way that will ever work here. You can, however, link to the petition, using a screencap of the widget in your sidebar to anchor the link. It would go in a text box and you could add text above it to the effect of Click to Sign the Petition.
And if you write a blog post about it, you could use the same image and link in the post.

thank you both for the replies.
ellaella, pardon the dumb question, what is a screen cap?
thanks again,

I’m sorry, cystreet. It’s a screen capture. Screen shot. I did look at the widget but to be honest, I didn’t right-click and look at the properties to see if it’s a graphic you could save. Which would be simpler, of course.
