I am trying to set up a static web page.

I followed your instructions in zero to hero guide for “get a home page” to the best of my ability. Went to create a page, called it home. Created a second page called it “Walk About’ Went to settings >> reading . Could not find “Front page display”, or “a static page”
I already purchased the theme “connects” I have been at this a few days now and it has not been a rewarding experience. You seem to assume a level of experience that some of us may not have, at least in the beginning of our “WordPress” set up.
Do you have a buddy system for new people to be connected with one experienced person?

I see these pages exist, good work! They are still in draft form though, so before you are able to set your home page as your front page, you’ll need to publish it. You can add some content to the pages first if you like, or you can publish them as they are and come back later and add your text.
Once you’ve published your pages, you can set your front page as a static page, by following these instructions (which might be the same as the instructions you were looking at before)
Let me know if you are still having trouble with this after you publish your pages, and I’ll be happy to walk you through it.

We don’t have anything like this now, but it’s an intriguing idea. I’ve taken this thought back to our team :)
