I am unable to remove the comment slot on my blog.

  I have followed the instructions for disabling comments, but still see the Comment slot on my blog. I have seen other Word Press blogs that state “Comments Closed” … that is what I would like to say. I enclose a copy of the page the disable comments link takes me too. It does not fit the instructions. What can I do?

  I have “un”checked all of the above slots. I have taken individual posts and go to this page … clicked on edit and found this page empty of checks and clicked on Save.. Still the slot for comments appears on my blog, as seen below:

  Hi there,

  It appears that comments are enabled for some of your posts.

  Could you please open your posts in the editor, and make sure that both of the options in the Discussion module are unchecked? If you can’t find the Discussion module in your page/post editor, be sure it’s enabled in your Screen Options at the top.
