I applied for a refund over 24hr ago, why do I still have no confirmation email?
-
I purchased the premium package, and now I would like a refund. I clicked the “cancel and refund” option in the my upgrades section of the store over 24hrs ago. But I still have no confirmation email in my inbox and no way of knowing whether my actions have registered with you.
Also, I’d like to keep my domain and transfer it for use with another host, but I seem to keep running into road blocks when I try to follow the instructions your site recommends for this process. I can’t seem to get it right. I’m very close to just cancelling my domain and buying it again via another host. But you say there’s a chance that the domain might be lost forever if I cancel it. How is that so? Could you please help me out.

Hi there,
After looking into your account, I found that the upgrade is still there. For some reason a refund was not processed. I see that you registered the domain: amacpherson.com. Please note that you cannot transfer the domain because there is a 60 day lock on newly registered domains. ICANN (the governing body over domains) places a 60 day lock on all new domain registrations and renewals to prevent fraud. This is a requirement placed on all domain registrars, so there is no way to waive it.
Please do not cancel the domain if you want to keep it because it could be months before the domain is released. and even if it is, there is no guarantee that you would be able to purchase it again. If someone picks it up before you do, there is nothing we can do at that point. The registrar determines when the domain would be released, and I have no way of knowing the exact date. While you cannot transfer the domain for 60 days, you can always host the domain elsewhere with these steps:
You’ll need to obtain the name server values from your current host. You should be able to find them on their support documentation, or contact them and ask for the information. (Name servers may be referred as “nameservers” or “NS records” instead.)
After 60 days you can transfer the domain registration elsewhere as well using this guide:
As for the refund, I can provide you a partial refund ($73) that allows you to keep the domain, but remove all the other upgrades of WordPress.com Premium. If this is what you want, please reply to confirm and I can take care of this for you.
Cheers!

Hi Grace
Thanks for helping me out. Please go ahead with the $73 refund. I’ll keep the domain with you though. Thanks.
Cheers,

Hi Angus,
Thanks for the confirmation! I have removed all the upgrades of WordPress.com Premium except for the domain and provided you a $73 partial refund as requested. Please note that it may take up to a week for the refund to show up in your bank account.
Feel free to reach out if you have any questions!
