All I wanted to do was read the article by Christine Twite titled ‘Abusing the Audience: How far is too far?’ So how can I do that and (at no cost to me) get rid of the account that apparently has been set up in the process?

    WP.com: Yes
    Correct account: Yes

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to moderators and staff)

  • Hi there, I tried searching, but I’m unable to locate the article you’re referring to.

What is the URL of the page you’re trying to access?

Once we know that, we should be able to help or at least direct you to the folks who can.

I believe the URL is either https://culturesofspectatorship.wordpress.com/about/ or

culturesofspectatorship.wordpress.com/2011/06/06/abusing-the-audience-how-far-is-too-far. (Each of those URLs is part of the respective citation of the article authored by Ms. Christine Twite.)

As I was searching for the article, variations on either or both of those URLs got thrust at me through WordPress in what I now realize were efforts to get me to open a WordPress account, which I inadvertently did, perhaps on a fee-paying basis.

  • Ah, ok. That site’s owner chose to make their site private, so you would need to be invited by them before you can view it: https://wordpress.com/support/user-roles/

And to do that, you will need to keep your WordPress.com account.

You also wouldn’t need to pay anything; you’d just need the site’s owner to invite you to view their private site.

Please let us know if you have any more questions!
