I believe my account was recently hacked.
-
About two weeks ago I posted something to my WordPress blog (which I will link to at the end) and it is no longer there. The layout of my blog is different and there is no record of me writing anything on the blog. I use this blog for a class, so it is mandatory that I do a certain number of posts by a certain deadline, so having my posts disappear is obviously frustrating. My instructor thinks this has to do with WordPress recently getting hacked and deleting many WordPress blogs. I want to know if there is a way to recover any of the posts I had on that blog.
Thank you for your time.

WordPress.COM has not been hacked – there has been an issue with duplicate blogs being created at signup and the staff has been correcting the duplicate blogs when they occur
Look in your Trash for missing Posts
The only “hacked” sites I have seen here have been people getting the password somehow to a site so you do want to be careful how you log in and use a tough password.
You should also check to make sure that someone has not added a new user to your site. Problems have also happened when there was more than one Admin. and an Admin left on less than graceful terms.
Dashboard >> Users
Many times a users email is hacked or the password guessed and the email account is used to get access by requesting a password reset – you need to change your email password and make sure they nobody has been added to your email account.
You should also run a virus check on you PC to make sure your PC does not have a security issue that has compromised your email or WordPress.COM log-in information (also your bank etc. if you do online banking or retirement accounts)
There have also been a few Posts on “hacked” sites and it was because someone got the Post by Email address and using the Post by Email to send in new Posts, if you have Post by email disable the Post by Email and regenerate the address. Spammers have scripts the generate email addresses and they sometimes can get a valid address for a Post by Email address.
If you are really concerned you could as the staff to look at your site: http://en.support.wordpress.com/contact/
You could also use a secure log-in in case you are on an unsecured link: http://en.support.wordpress.com/https/

WordPress.com was not recently hacked. I dunno where your teacher is getting that information but it’s wrong.
There was a bug going around that created two different versions of each new blog site. That might be the issue. And there’s a constant issue with the new Post button on the grey Admin bar (never ever use it). But we need more information in order to help you.
Do the blog posts appear on the dashboard Posts page of the blog? Do they appear in the Post Revisions?

To reiterate on what the others have said, we have not been hacked, and just like they suspected, at signup our system created duplicate blogs a ktansor330.wordpress.com. I’ve removed the empty duplicate blog and everything should be fine from here.
Please clear your browser cache and then review your site again.
