I bought a .com domain when publishing my site through wordpress, I only wanted the domain, not a plan for now, but when I type my .com domain it redirects to the old .wordpress.com site, I need you to configure my domain properly, to always use the .com one.

Hi there!
A WordPress.com plan is required to set a custom domain as the primary address. I understand you didn’t want a plan for now. Without a WordPress.com plan, you still own the domain, but it can’t be set as the primary address on the site. As a result, it will redirect to the WordPress.com address.
When you have upgraded to a paid plan, you can follow the steps here to set the domain as the primary address on your site.

I followed the steps to buy a domain for my site through WordPress and now it turns out I cannot use that domain fully and my site will still be .wordpress.com unless I pay $30 more? It makes no sense to use a domain that it’s just a redirection, and even worse is that in no part of the buying process it states that you won’t be able to fully use the domain unless you purchase a plan… I feel misled by this. Can I get a refund for this?

Hi there,
Yes you can cancel for a full refund here: https://wordpress.com/me/purchases/
One thing to mention about canceling a new domain like this, there is a 5 day grace period before you can purchase it with another provider, but after that you can pick it up from any company that sells domains to the public.
Let us know if you need further assistance or if you have any questions.
