I bought a custom domain for $19 a year but now I have to pay $48 to add it

    when did this change happen I bought a domain for $19 a year via WordPress.com now to use it as my blog domain I have to pay another $48? your website is really confusing on this and charges twice for a domain it seems, when the $48 includes the domain… how do I fix this

    Yeah. WordPress is kind of dumb with this now. The charges are hidden for sure. It says “add a custom domain for $19” then it goes to tell you that you have to pay $48. This is totally illegal in California. You can reverse their charges.

    Apologies for any confusion. Our yearly plans include a free domain name (for the first year) but do not take into account that you may already have a domain on your account.

    I see you have the Premium plan in your cart currently, to make up for the cost of your domain I have added a credit to your cart, you can see it here: https://wordpress.com/checkout/tarotpathcom.wordpress.com#step2

    This will allow you to add the plan to your account without paying a second time for the domain. Hope that helps. Please let us know if you have any more questions.
