i bought a wordpress.com theme and it doesnt work nor does it look like it

i bought a venture theme and it doesnt look like how its presented. come to find out it cant be done. i saw the look and want my site exactly like that. but i was told it has to be done through wordpress.org. can you verify this is true and if so i would like a refund so i can repurchase from wordpress.org

It’s definitely possible to set it up to look similar to the demo, though you’ll probably need to upload your own background images.
Did you see this page, where it gives a bit more info about using featured images, featured content, and custom page templates?
