i have a other place where my domain name is – i just wanted a website to replace the old website which was on dreamweaverdo i have to purchase a package from wordpress or can i just load it onto a platform

It sounds like you might be trying to use the open source WordPress software. Which is the other version of WordPress.

Or, you can buy hosting elsewhere, and set up your own free WordPress installation there. Just note many hosts do not offer WordPress management and support, or they charge extra for it. This is a good option if you want to handle the technical end of things yourself. You’ll still have access to the WordPress.org community here, too: https://wordpress.org/support/forums/
Since you already have a site hosted elsewhere, and you’ve already bought a theme, you might want to work with your host to set up the new site there. But if they aren’t able or willing to help and you want to create the new site on our servers, you’d be welcome. You’ll just need a business plan if you wish to use the theme you bought.
