-
Hello, I’m french and hope you’ll understand my problem. I’m on Mac OS X snow leopard 10.6.1 and with Safari 4.0.3. The theme of my blog is twenty ten (http://monprofdetaichi.wordpress.com/) and the problem is that I can’t anymore change the format of the police of my articles when I write a new article. The format stays on « paragraph » and can’t be changed. Before there was no difficulties … And with Firefox, no problem, I can change the format. What is going on with Safari and wordpress.com ? I precise that I’ve cleared cookies and cache several times. Thank you for your help .

Hi there,
WordPress.com supports the latest versions of browsers listed at http://browsehappy.com/ Older browser versions are not supported. Please see what Staff say at these links:

Thank you but it doesn’t help me very much because my old browser’s version Firefox is supported. So, why not my version of Safari ?
I’ll try the new version but so many users surfing with recent version of Safari have troubles …
Thank you for your help. -
Just a point of good posting/coding techniques, those header tags are not actually meant as a way to change font size. They have several technical meanings:
Why Use Heading Tags?
You may be wondering why heading tags are necessary at all since you could achieve the same effect by specifying a larger font or defining a css class. The main reasons are:
Heading tags will be recognised by browsers which don’t recognise style sheets (or use a user-defined style sheet).
Heading tags are used by search engines to identify words which are more important than the rest of the page text. The theory is that headings will sum up the topic of the page, so they are counted as important keywords.
Screen readers and magnifiers (for the visually impaired) rely on headings to navigate the page.
Heading tags make it easy to make global changes to headings. Although you could theoretically achieve this by defining a new css class, it makes more sense and tends to be easier to define a style for heading tags.from:

http://wpbtips.wordpress.com/2009/07/11/formatting-text-pt-5/You might try using an off-line editor like Windows Live Writer or Ecto or others because they work more like a word processing system.

Thank you for your answer. It ’s a good idea. But the problem is always present because I can’t change the italic or bold types. It seems to be an incompability with wordpress and Safari actually on my computer (and maybe on others).

Well, with an offline editor you would (should) be able to make text italic and or bold. even add color.
