I can get the title to post, but no text
-
Hi, I am struggling with trying to set up my first posts. On the About page: I type in a title for a post. Then I erase the text that says, “This is an example of a WordPress page, you could edit this to put information about yourself or your site so readers know where you are coming from.” yadayadyada and I enter my new text here. I hit save. Then, when I go to view the About page, what I see is the title, and the text that says, “This is an example . . .” If I go back to edit, the text I typed is gone. I am getting really frustrated!!!
On the post page, something similar happens. HELP!! http://www.pencraftco.wordpress.com

The forums are mostly staffed by volunteers, so it can take us a little while to answer questions. 40 minutes is usually quite good for us. :)
Here’s the first thing to check: what browser and operating system are you using? If you have several browsers, try a different one; sometimes there are problems with some browsers and the visual editor, particularly Opera and Safari. Also, have you got any security software running which might interfere with it? Something like Norton?
If it’s not any of that, try turning off the visual editor in you settings: Dashboard > Users > Your Profile. See if you can publish in just plain text. Also you need to make sure you click publish with a new post or page, not save, otherwise it will just save as a draft.
Hopefully one those will help.

Hi,
Thanks for your reply! Much appreciated. Turning of the visual editor did the trick. I don’t quite understand why; but, does that matter? Not to me–now that I can get my text to appear. Thanks again for your time and excellent debugging!!!!
