Hi again,
Sorry to be bothering again, but I noticed that I Can Has Cheezeburger now has a photo format that won’t upload onto my blog. Did they do that deliberately to keep people from posting LOLz? The suffix is .bmp now, when before it was .jpg. Pleez halp.

how do you do that? I’d love to learn. Especially since I have no scanner and need to get images off the net.

Right click and download the photo to your computer. Open it in your favorite image program (“Paint” which ships with Windows can handle bitmaps). Then just do file-save as. Once you have the dialog box open, there should be a drop down menu that lets you pick the file type. Choose jpg or jpeg (not sure which extension Windows will use) and then save. Now you can upload it to your wp.com blog and do what you’d like.
Same principle applies to OSX and your favorite *nix OS. You’ll just use different image programs.

Since the upgrade there have been incompatibility issues with Cheezburger that I’ve noticed. When you try to set the link to open in a new window, it splits the post into a link and an image, separate from one another. I guess they’re trying to tweak things.
When you say it won’t go on your blog, are you downloading and re-uploading the image? Because the code they give you should allow you to hotlink, and THEY have permission to post bmps.
I also looked at the code for all the images on the front page, and they are ALL Jpgs. Which image were you trying to post?

What I do usually is rightclick and “save as” then use the browse function to upload to the blog. I tried cutting and pasting the code and all that ended up on the blog was CODE. They might have been able to click to the ICHC page, but that is not very effective when I’m trying to bombard my customers with my irreverent sarcasm. What is hotlink? I will try what katm said above and see if it works..hopefully it will.

I tried right clicking the picture again and there was no “download” option. When I clicked “save as” again I got the “bmp” suffix. I went on your blog yesterday, raincoaster, looking for other LOLs and I think you have people click to see your LOLs, right? You have the goth LOL?

downcastmysoul – there is no need to download the picture. On the site there is a box that says “Copy & paste to your blog.” If you use that, it will link directly (aka hotlink) to the picture on that site.

ok, I tried to download and open via paint and change it to Jpeg, jpg…it seemed to work until I tried to put it on the site then the computer stalled and it wouldn’t do it. I tried to cut and paste using the code and all that shows on the site is a string of characters that has to be clicked to the ICHC site. My computer still says the new pictures are bmp when I try to “save as” and converting does not work either. I think they are doing it to the newer pictures. I don’t know. Maybe they want us to PAY for them now.

It doesn’t have a link! I will try and cut and paste it here. ALL the photos are like this now, though, including the dog photo on raincoaster’s blog.

Which one is it?
This, for example, is all you need for the dead kitties don’t need baths one..hotlinking as mentioned above..and it is a bmp but that won’t matter with the link:
