I can no longer edit a gallery in any of my post, how can i fix this?

I have cleared chache and cookies from my computer and tried to edit on a different computer and am still having the same issue. I can create a new gallery but once in a post i can no longer edit it or delete it….help!

I had the same problem, but then I clicked on ‘Dashboard’, ‘Messages’, ‘All messages’ and chose the message of which wanted to edit the gallery, and doing it that way, I could edit it as usual.
(I’m using a Dutch version, so I don’t know if the English version says ‘Posts’ instead of ‘Messages’.)

@lisanairn Where are you trying to edit the Post? If in the New Dash New Post editor, first save your draft and then, as nieuwsuithetduin said, head to your site’s Dashboard and edit it via the Edit link in the Edit Posts Screen http://en.support.wordpress.com/posts/edit-posts-screen/

When you open your Post for editing, you should be able to click anywhere inside the Gallery and a Pencil Icon should appear in the upper left corner of the Gallery area. Click on it and it will take you to the Media Manager’s Edit Gallery screen.
If you are still having trouble, please post back here and let us know what browser and version you are using.

Hi thanks for replies….I have worked out this morning that i can edit galleries as per normal using Internet Explorer. However i usually use Chrome and the editing function stopped working yesterday. When i open a post for editing and click on the gallery – the pencil icon comes up , but nothing happens when i click on it. Chrome version 36.0.1985.125. Thanks

Looks like there’s a Chrome update. I’ll check before and after updating.
Before in 36.0.1985.125: clicking on the Pencil icon in the Gallery brings up the Edit Gallery screen in the Media Manager.

After in 36.0.1985.143: After clicking somewhere on the Gallery and then the Pencil icon, the Edit Gallery screen opens in the Media Manager.
Again, both actions were done on my site’s Dashboard, NOT in the New Dash New Post editor.
So, it must be something else. First thing I would do would be to follow the instructions in the browser troubleshooting Support doc here: http://en.support.wordpress.com/browser-issues/
