I can not figure out how to get my comments turned on?

  I am new and frustrated! I have enabled the comments in my settings and when I publish my post it says “Comments Off” Why? I have been through the entire dashboard and just can’t figure out how to get them turned on…Help!

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  Please check your settings > Settings > Discussion

  All WordPress blogs by default have comments open on all Pages and Posts. You must be logged in as Admin under the same username account that registered the blog in question.

  You can enable and disable comments on free hosted WordPress.com blogs on this page > Settings > Discussion
  Discussion settings is where you set up defaults for comments.

  You can override the default settings and enable or disable future comments on any individual post or page.

  Any existing posts or pages will need to have comments disabled manually via editing. You can use the bulk edit feature in the all posts and all pages screen to make that quicker.

  Note: By default, new blogs on WordPress.com will have the Discussion hidden.   I did everything all those help pages said to do. Every discussion item is checked. All the allow comments are checked. Still on my blog it says “comments off”.

  Hi there,

  In your blog’s discussion settings (under Settings > Discussion in the dashboard) you have selected the option “Automatically close comments on articles older than 14 days.” Since your blog post is dated October 1, the comments for that blog post are closed.

  If you’d like comments to stay open longer, you can either change that setting to more than 14 days or disable it by unchecking that box. Please let me know if you have any questions about that. :)

  Oh, thank you so much! That was driving me crazy. I posted the blog without letting anyone know except my husband to see if it would work right. I plan to post in November.
