I can not sign in

I just registered for a username only account so that I can comment on people’s blogs. When I put my username and password in, it says invalid username. I am postive I am typing in my username correctly.

Your wordpress.com username is linked to a blogspot.com blog. What’s with that weirdness?

If required please complete the form for WordPress.com account recovery at this link https://en.wordpress.com/wp-login.php?action=recovery and submit it to the Account Recovery Staff so they can contact you by email ie. not on these public support forums which are available to everyone with internet access.

There was an option to register as a “username only.” I chose that since I would like to follow and comment on blogs of people on wordpress that required me to sign in, but was not interested having a blog through wordpress. It turned out , the username does not work, but I can sign in using my email. But being new to wordpress, I now can not add any blogs on my iPad. They show up in my feed if I go to my laptop and hit “follow” But I can’t add a non wordpress that way, so I need to figure out how to do it from the iPad. I would appreciate any help. thank you
