I can see some pages but not others
-
I’m very new to Word Press and I have a problem. I’ve created 5 new pages on my new blog. The first two have been published successfully but for the next three when I click on the tabs to access them I get a message saying Page Not Found – You are looking for something that isn’t there. As far as I can see I followed the same procedure for all five pages. I have checked the FAQs and I see that this issue has been raised before but the problems didn’t seem to be the same as the one I have.
Please help!

I cannot see any pages and try to help without a link to your blog, starting with http://
-
The permalinks of your first two pages are:
http://starcrossjim.wordpress.com/archives-2004/
http://starcrossjim.wordpress.com/spring-2005/But the rest have this form:
http://starcrossjim.wordpress.com/NUMBER_HERE/
That won’t work, because a plain number after the main blog URL is reserved for the dynamic pages you get for older posts. You need to go to the page editor and change the editable part of each permalink into a word or a phrase, not a number.
And please paste the exact URL of your blog when asking questions here, or link your nickname to your blog (as explained in the Sticky 8 Things to Know Before Posting). We are not obliged to search for your blog in order to find out what’s wrong.

Thanks, panaghiotisadam, “I can see clearly now”! My pages
represent a calendar year which the permalink was reading as
a number, not a date. Thanks for helping even though I didn’t realise I had to
paste my URL here. Now – does anyone know why my calendar is stuck on August 18th?
-
Because that’s the date of your single post.
By the way, the “normal” arrangement would probably be the reverse of what you’ve done: “Hello World” as a page instead of a post, and all those chapters you’ve got in your pages turned into separate posts (with the years as post categories). Much more practical.
