I can upload MP3 files (we have space upgrade), but another admin cannot.

As a web designer, I have been uploading mp3 files to a church sermon blog with a space upgrade with no problems. The church wanted their church office to be able to. The staff member has a WordPress account, and I can see they are set as an “administrator”. They can edit a post, click on “Add Media”, and select their 26 MB MP3 file, but then it instantly shows “100%” finished. It does not show the additional options of naming the file or the buttons to insert the file into the post. When I look at the media library, the file is not there. They have tried this on multiple machines, some in the office and some at home, and have tried several different files (we verified the files played correctly on their computer). They are using IE, but I have tested IE and it works fine. I also had them send me a file they were unable to upload and I uploaded it fine. I sent another invitation to another office member to be an admin to see if maybe it is something with that person’s account.

  • Hitting 100% instantly is definitely odd. Which version of IE is he running?

Not sure which version of IE. The church office is closed now, so I can’t find out until Monday. But they did try several machines at home and at the office, so I would doubt it is IE. I’ll ask on Monday though.

  • Excellent, please let us know when you find out.

He is using IE 9, just like I am. He also tried it at home in Safari on a Mac. I just don’t get why it goes immediately to 100% and when I look, it is not in the Media Library. We have plenty of space. He is very frustrated.

Any ideas why this would hit 100% instantly and not really upload?

I had them give me their WordPress username and password. I logged in as them and was able to upload with no problems, so it isn’t their account. Their internet speed is a bit slower than mine (.5 Mbps to my .65 Mbps), but they say they are able to upload files to other sites OK).

You might ask them to clear their cache:

They might also try using a different browser, such as Chrome:
