Why was my card charged twice, on the 17th and again on the 19th? I cancelled this.

This maybe helpful too Automattic Inc. https://automattic.com/ owns WordPress.com and other products like Akismet and VaultPress, etc. so this could be a charge related to one of them. It’s important to know that each charge is sent to the registered email address for each username account, so if you have more than one username account that could be confusing you. Also, if you have a wordpress.org account and a wordpress.com account that could be confusing you.

The entry on your statement for the 17th is a pre-authorization, not an actual charge. This is standard practice with automatic credit card renewals, and it should disappear from your statement within a few days.
