I cannot access my blog
-
I cant open my wordpress blog. I have tried clearing cookies, and using a different browser.
I have tried using a search engine, and also using the usual url.
I did run a norton full system scan at the weekend, because my pc was really slow. I guess this is what is behind the problem.
Help would be much apreciated. Thank you
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Could you try using an alternate web browser:

Thank you, I have now managed to view my site using google chrome, but not IE9 or firefox. With firefox it neary opened, then I had the message “the connection was reset while the page was loading” Do you know why this might be?

It also occurs to me that I disabled some of my add-ons to speed things up a little. Perhaps this is the reasin I can’t open WordPress in IE9 and Firefox?
Still after some help here if possible.

It sounds like you have a connectivity issue. Is Talk Talk your ISP? If not then who is please? To eliminate some possible causes please work through what follows and report back.
1. If you are not running one of the browsers and versions listed at http://browsehappy.com/ please try upgrading or switching first.
2. If you are using an IE browser in compatibility mode please disable that mode. http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/1196-internet-explorer-compatibility-view-turn-off.html
3. If you are running one of the browsers and versions listed at http://browsehappy.com/
(a) Try clearing your browser’s cache http://www.google.com/support/accounts/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=32050
If applicable see here for instructions on how to clear the cache for Chrome and Safari on the iPad:
http://browsers.about.com/od/howtousemobilebrowser1/ss/safari-ipad-clear-cache.htm
http://browsers.about.com/od/howtousemobilebrowser1/ss/How-To-Clear-Browsing-Data-In-Chrome-For-Ipad_6.htm(b) Make sure that you have both third-party cookies enabled and JavaScript enabled
http://en.support.wordpress.com/third-party-cookies/
http://www.google.com/adsense/support/bin/answer.py?answer=12654(c) Disable all browser extensions or add-ons temporarily.
(d) Try enabling HTTPS: http://en.support.wordpress.com/https/
Add both *.wordpress.com and *.wp.com to your list of trusted sites under the Security tab. Make sure to uncheck the box for “Require server verification (https:) for all sites in this zone.” http://en.support.wordpress.com/https/#frequently-asked-questions
4. Try using another browser.
5. If you are not successful let us know:
(a) Exactly what kind of device you are using to connect to the internet and to WordPress.com.
(b) Exactly which browser (and version of it) you’re using by checking here if necessary http://www.whatbrowser.org/
(c) And what any error reports you receive state. -
I’m in the U.K, but with the phone Co-op, not talk Talk, and have been unable to access my blog for a period of a few hours on each of the last 3 days. The ‘new likes and comments’ button (top right) also stops functioning some of the time. I get a message saying that ‘the connection to the server was reset while the page was loading’, and suggesting that the site may be ‘temporarily unavailable or too busy’.
Everything else (including Firefox) seems to be working normally, and I’ve not changed anything on my computer.
This feels horribly like the problem many of us experience a while ago, in my case for about 6 weeks, and apparently due to over-zealous blocking by the Internet Watch Foundation. Last time the problem was eventually solved, and the ‘likes and comments’ button came back to life. Does anyone know what’s happening this time?

Having the same trouble – not able to log on, get to my dashboard, see my blog, post comments on any other WP blog et, etc. Usiing Post Office bb in UK.

Oddly, I’ve just tried Google Chrome, which has worked o.k. while Firefox is still not connecting. I’d like to know why this might be the case, when Firefox has been o.k mostly, up to press.

I spoke too soon. Google Chrome, for some reason, took me straight into the Dashboard. I came out, to look at stats, then when I tried to get back into my blog, got a ‘no data’ error message.

Thanks everyone (and timethief in particular) for your help. Guess what – I can now open my blog in IE9. Just like that, without changing any of the settings.
A temporary glitch then? (I’m not with Talk Talk BTW). Anyway, I shall keep hold of the advice in case the problem arises again.
Cheers all.

Yes I am with TalkTalk. The thing is this; for my own blog I can live with disruptions but I am currently testing the marketplace to decide where I should start a new one for a client which is a small local business. If you cannot access direct support for problems then this is no good to me – verging on the fucking amateurish actually. Think I’ll hop off to Wix ta.
-
The problem is with Talk Talk. If I call a cab and it can’t get to my house because some construction dudes down the street tore up the road, I take it up with the construction dudes. What makes you think Talk Talk won’t block Wix next?
-
So what are you saying? Selected ISPs such as TalkTalk, the co-op, the post office and Sky have alldecided it would be a great wheeze to fuck people up? And what do you mean by blocking exactly? And why isnt WordPress coming out with a definitive answer? This Googlestyle cant contact us crap is getting on everyones nerves.
