I cannot access my original blog
-
I am not able to access my original blog jodikurtz.com. I deleted a test blog I was working on for someone. @ourminimalistlife831328803. Everything defaults to that. When I go to my blog and clock on the icon to take me to it I am directed back to the ourminimalist site. I have tried everything I know how to do. Please help!

https://jodikurtz.com/ belongs to a different WordPress.com account here, not the one you’re currently logged in to.
If you do not recall the password to the correct account, we have some options for you at https://wordpress.com/support/account-recovery/

I tried to recover the account. I think its with a very old gmail account that I know longer have access to. It was hacked years ago and I just let it go.
The issue I have to fill out the recovery form on WordPress is I do not have proof of ownership. Well…besides the fact that its my blog named after me with my picture on it!
-
Since it’s a paid name, you do have proof if you’re the one who bought it. Can you find the transaction ID?
https://en.support.wordpress.com/transaction-id/#if-you-dont-have-access-to-the-receipt
Then use it in the proof-of-ownership field in the form.

The issue is I cannot figure out what email it is under, so I cannot access anything linked to the blog. Ugh, this is a frustrating loop…I keep ending up not having the info I need to access it.
I purchased it back in 2014 or there about. I had a ghost writer that did the blog posts and the like. I have tried accessing old credit card statements but cannot get that far back.
-
I understand you don’t have access to the email.
The upgrade has been renewed each year, though, and most card companies will let you access statements within the past year. If they aren’t providing that you might call them directly.
Once you have a Transaction ID, the account recovery team can likely help:
https://wordpress.com/support/account-recovery/#account-recovery-formIf someone else is paying for the account each year, they are the upgrade owner and you would need to recover access through them.

Don’t ignore a hack of any kind – especially if money changed hands and your financial details are at risk.
Always report these serious issues.
If any site chooses to ignore it, we only have to see what is happening to Google in Australia to see how tech firms are being held to account. -
I will have to look through my other accounts to see what one it is on. I was not aware it was a yearly renewal. This will hopefully help me figure this out.
I feel dumb having to ask all the questions to something that seems so simple. I have my password book with the username and password for the account, but when I log in it says there is no account under that name.

@mercedesblak it seems you might have meant to reply on another thread.
And @ourminimalistlife831328803, no problem. Once you find the ID the account recovery team can likely help you sort things out. We just have to be very careful to avoid socially engineered account takeovers — hence all the strictness about it, not giving out the email address, etc. Good luck!

I totally get the strictness with the process. The only reason I am able to even contact you is that I have the other wordpress under (email visible only to moderators and staff). I tried to set up a call but since I deactivated that blog it says that I am not able to.
I looked through my bank statements for the last two years and paypal and there are no recurring charges from wordpress. I really thought I paid a one time fee to purchase jodikurtz.com.
Is there any other way to verify me? Can you call me and have me answer security questions?
The blog used to be re-storedesign and I changed it when I launched my furniture business. We are in the process of filming a TV show and I need to get access again so I can edit the site and remove things I no longer want public.
My lst blog post was about our new business we were launching. Alme Design Co. http://www.almedesignco.com/ My cell phone is the contact number. My cell phone I got 15 years ago…that traces to me (I used to be a fraud investigator for Target and Best Buy)
I own it with my partner, Carrie Alme, http://www.almedesignco.com/about-us. Here is the article in my hometown paper, The Hillsboro Banner, about the Pilot for the TV show https://www.hillsborobanner.com/news/article_e61364dc-5796-11e9-9562-9f8fbe0d0b23.html. Written by Corey Erickson who graduated 3 years after me in 2002.
Verifying my address…in Mequon Wisconsin. There has to be another way! At least a way to speak with a human on the phone so we can sort this out. I really do understand the security. I also understand there are plenty of other ways I can be verified.

I’m afraid that none of those sorts of things work for “verification” on our end. We have to have something we know to be true to compare the verification information to. We can’t use your address to verify an account because we did not ask for your address when the account was set up originally.
I feel like your best bet is going to be finding the transaction ID.
