  I am not able to access the backend even with the right username and password. when i try to reset the password, an error pops up. please help.

  I can’t access my website admin portal.

  There has been a critical error on this website. Please check your site admin email inbox for instructions.

  I changed the admin email but didn’t get a verification email to verify the new email address.

  This is WordPress.com forum, the website you are using is built on open-source WordPress software (from WordPress.org), which is hosted elsewhere rather than WordPress.com.
  To avoid confusion about WordPress.com vs WordPress.org please know the differences from here https://wordpress.com/support/com-vs-org/
