I cannot add a facebook badge on my free blog

  I have been trying to add an interactive Facebook badge on my blog that would allow readers ‘like’ my facebook page from my blog. When i add the html code for the badge i have generated to my widget, it cant render. I am only able to add an image linking to my page showing the number of people who like my blog. Is there a way i can add the interactive badge to my blog?

  You cannot use the Javascript badge. > http://en.support.wordpress.com/code/
  This is the badge that you can add that will work on wordpress.com blog http://en.support.wordpress.com/facebook-badge/
