i cannot add photo gallery to my new post

i want to add a gallery to my new post, but no way
i have posted a post with a gallery before and no problems at all but for this new one, impossible!!
i’ve tried by adding a new page, but noooo waaaay!! can you help me, the only thing that allows me is to add a single boring photo!!!

i have the opposite problem, barbeiratucci. i can’t add single photos. iset up the image i want, complete with title and alternate text. i then select size and placement. but when i hit the “Insert in Post” button, nothing happens — all i get is a blank screen. would you or anyone know what’s wrong? i used to be able to insert images, but not any longer…

You don’t need to post more than once.
What browser and version are you using? Have you tried the Cookie Dance? (log out, clear browser cache and cookies, restart computer).

@barbeiratucci – I see that your last post has a gallery, so assume this is no longer a problem.Is it a problem for you that all your thumbnails overlap one another? If so, change your gallery settings so that it displays only 3 (maybe 4) columns, rather than the 5 you are using now.
@philipyan-I’m not finding any images on the blog linked to your name. Is there another WordPress.com blog you are referring to that has pictures? Just for reference http://en.support.wordpress.com/images/

justjennifer, that post was the one I made that had the gallery, i have a new one ready to be published but i still cannot add the gallery,

Bad News… I tried to copy the bit of code from the gallery in my previous post, the gallery appeared y my draft but still doesn’t give me the option “my gallery”. I logged out, clean the cookies, but still the same problem… :(

link and the photo does not insert into the post. Its been weeks
and its still not sorted. -
Still having the same problem… WP only allows me to post a single photo, not a gallery, quite strange because i was able to do it once….
is it me or is it WP??? it seems we are many having the same problem…

This amounts to “hot-linking” from your other site. wordpress.com does not allow hotlinking. Most blogging platfofrms do not allow hotlinking. The exceptions that may allow hotlinking are some image hosting sites like photobucket.

You can only create a Gallery on your WordPress.com blog from images you upload to your WordPress.com blog. In other words you can’t link Gallery photos from another site, like flickr.

@philipyan-sorry, I am confused. Your Nov 10 post has photos in it. Is there a new post you want to publish with photos and you can’t insert them?

my images are uploaded in my WP blog. When I go to MEdia Library i cannot select them to create a gallery, maybe i have to contact support… tks

You can’t make a gallery out of photos you uploaded for previous posts, as far as I’m aware. You can only insert into a post a gallery of photos you uploaded specifically for that post.

Yes, you can add a gallery of photos from another post or page:
edit —> post —> hover over the title of the post you want to use the images from
In the browser bar at the bottom of your screen you will see a number at the end of all the http:// stuff. That number is the post ID. remember that number.
Insert this shortcode into your post:
[gallery id="POST_NUMBER"] -
The only way I’ve found to edit a gallery from another post or page is by writing the shortcode settings:
