I cannot change the theme

Whenevr i change the theme it says it has changed but it doesn’t actually change. Even when i press preview theme it just shows the original theme
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

That site is currently using the Rebalance theme. Once you start adding your own content and have something to work with you’ll be able to make your site look more like the theme demo.

Hey there @felixziegler , I just want to make sure that you also saw my reply to you here: https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/i-changed-theme-but-it-doesnt-look-like-it-changed-still-same-look-when-i-first-create-the-account/#post-3366479
And now that we know which theme you are using, you can refer to the theme’s Showcase page as well for set up: https://wordpress.com/theme/rebalance

I am trying to use mayland and for both of them there is no option for page editor only customize

Hi there, your above site is now using Mayland.

https://wordpress.com/stats/day/zieglerphotography137346036.wordpress.com/
to go to your dashboard and the first thing you should see there is a checklist and the first thing on the checklist is “update your homepage” Click the Try It button. That will open the Page Editor. If you don’t see that, go to your Site Pages https://wordpress.com/pages/zieglerphotography137346036.wordpress.com/ and click the three dots next to HOME and choose EDIT That will open the Page Editor with your site’s front page and then you can follow the guide at https://wordpress.com/theme/mayland to recreate the look of the demo with your content.
Let us know how that goes.

Hi there,
this doesn’t work?
Is there anyway you can just do it for me as this just isn’t making sense to me ?
thanks
felix. -
Hello again Felix, What is it exactly that doesn’t work? WordPressdotcom is mostly a DIY environment, so we can’t really do it for you, but we can help you work out how to do it.
Are you able to follow the guide for Mayland https://wordpress.com/theme/mayland to recreate that static front page of your site with your content? What is it you want to do on your site?
Mayland and all the new Block Editor ready themes depend on using the Block Editor, so if you are not familiar with working in the Block Editor, have a look at this guide: https://en.support.wordpress.com/wordpress-editor/
Another option is to activate one of the older WordPressdotcom themes (pre – the Business theme) on your site and then revert to using the Classic Editor. If that is something you would prefer to do, please first switch themes and then in the Post or Page Editor follow the instructions in https://en.support.wordpress.com/wordpress-editor/#frequently-asked-questions “Will I still be able to use the old editor?”
Let us know how that goes and what you want to do, or did. :)

Hi, you’re not annoying, but well to be honest, what you described is pretty general. :/
Did you have a chance to read our guide to using the Block Editor? That would be a good place to start. https://en.support.wordpress.com/wordpress-editor/
The instructions in the Mayland theme showcase page show different blocks in use to recreate the look of the front page. In this case, https://en.support.wordpress.com/wordpress-editor/blocks/coblocks/ is what makes up the static front page.
Descriptions of other block types at https://en.support.wordpress.com/category/writing-editing/blocks/
After creating the static front page, from that point you can learn about adding a logo, custom menu and social menu in the Customizer by following the guide.
If you work through those instructions and have more questions, let us know specifically what you need help on. We’ll be glad to help.
