I copied and pasted a whole document into my new blog page…. I CANNOT delete the tables. I´ve tried everything… so my question is, How do you delete a table from WordPress?
I cannot believe I had to contact tech support because I cannot delete a table… I really hope this is my mistake and not a design issue.
Thanks for you help.

Hi,
When you say tables on the table is this what you mean ?
For example: In your blog, the table under the “Port States” .If that is the case, I see that the tables were saved as images and not as tables in the Html code. example for the above table
<img class=”alignnone size-full wp-image-27″ src=”https://broadcaststormblog.files.wordpress.com/2016/01/stp-states.jpg?w=700″ alt=”STP-states” />
To remove them please do the following ..
choose the blog you want to edit ->
Click on “Edit” -> then under html -> search for right <img> tags and delete that tag -> then you can choose to “publish”This should remove the table images from the blog.
Hope this helps.

@broadcaststormer
What is the URL of the post or page this table you refer to is embedded in, please?Screenshots can be helpful. You can use http://snag.gy/ or http://cloudup.com to share screenshots and link to them here.
@vijjisite
When we answer support questions like this one the URL of the relevant post or page or image, etc. that is the first thing we need to know and the only question we post until it is provided. -
Hi guys,
No, this is a table, not a picture. It is not live in my blog yet. I am trying to edit my blog, so I copy/pasted a new version of this doc and I cannot delete the tables from it. I want to delete them because I will use a picture version of these table instead.
In a regular word processor, you just highlight the table and press delete, I cannot even select the table at all. If I grab it from one of its corners and try to down size it… it won`t do that either.I wanted to insert a screenshot to this post… I DON´t see how!!!!
My god! what´s going on!!! I´ve been using computers for years.. I never had such a difficult time trying to do something very simple as this. -
We are Volunteers and cannot view any unpublished posts and pages. That is why I will tag this thread with modlook in the sidebar for a follow-up by Staff.
Do not panic because your issue is bound to be a copy and paste from Microsoft WORD or another word processer copy and paste issue.
Maybe what I post below will help while you wait for Staff.
First, enable this setting please > Dashboard > Setting > Writing
Formatting
__ WordPress should correct invalidly nested XHTML automaticallyhttp://broadcaststormblog.wordpress.com/wp-admin/options-writing.php
I recommend using the classic editor at Dashboard > Posts > Add New

Staff made changes see here > https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/the-paste-as-word-button-has-been-removed-from-the-visual-editor?replies=2
The paste from Word icon has been removed. Please read this thread > https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/the-paste-as-word-button-has-been-removed-from-the-visual-editor?replies=5
See: https://en.support.wordpress.com/advanced-html/
https://en.support.wordpress.com/advanced-html/#tablesYou can use the “Paste as Text” button but the formatting will be removed.
P.S. When you create a new post, always make sure the Format tool is set to Paragraph before you start typing. It’s in the Visual editor Row 2 first position “style”. See the illustration here http://en.support.wordpress.com/visual-editor/#row-2 If you forget to do that then edit the post, highlight all in the Visual editor, select Paragraph from the Format tool, switch editor to Text then switch back to Visual and click Update.

Thank you guys, I can see that many people are participating and I really Appreciate it. I was able to solve the issue by deleting the whole doc, pasting it again (am I doing the right thing by using copy/paste?) from OpenOffice and then inserting all the pictures (NO tables).
I am sure it was some sort of bug, but just in case, how DO you manually delete a table? :O) -
Can you try switching to HTML view in the editor and deleting the table code there?
If that doesn’t work, let me know the title of the post or page on which the table is, and as staff I’ll be able to take a look at the draft there.

Sorry I missed the part of your reply where you said you solved the issue.

The most foolproof way to remove a table in a post is by switching to the HTML editor and removing all the table code there.
am I doing the right thing by using copy/paste?
Unfortunately, rich-text applications like OpenOffice, Word, and others can often carry over extraneous code that does not play nicely. For this reason it’s not really recommended at all. If you do need to do it, I’d suggest you first paste the code into a code editor like TextWrangler and remove anything other than basic table, td, tr, td, and other very plain table tags. Then paste your trimmed-down table into the WordPress editor in HTML view.

Thank you very much kathrynwp and every one involved!
I understood what you´ve said in your previous post. Let me continue taking advantage of you generosity by asking one more question; Other than copy/paste and writing directly onto the blog of course, is there a way to import my doc from my program (i.e. OpenOffice, PDF, etc) directly to my blog? What do you recommend?These will be my last two questions, promise…

The best way to bring in content from rich-text applications is to save it as a plain-text document first and then reapply all formatting in the WordPress editor. That will not work for tables, though, because tables are by their nature not plain text.
We provide some guidance on using tables in WordPress here:
