I cannot empty my trash

    Currently housekeeping my blog.
    Over the past few days I cannot bulk delete posts without an error 3o2 coming up.
    As regards trash?
    It doesn’t matter if I click on empty trash or bulk action delete everything in trash, I’ve got 860 documents that won’t disapear.
    Would someone kindly clear out my trash bin!!

    Make sure you are running an up to date browser version found at https://browsehappy.com Try clearing your browser cache https://en.support.wordpress.com/browser-issues/#clearing-your-browser-cache and see the tips here https://en.support.wordpress.com/browser-issues/

    If you are not successful please provide this specific info:
    (a) Exactly what kind of device you are using to connect to the internet and to WordPress.com.
    (b) Exactly which browser (and version of it) you’re using by checking here if necessary http://supportdetails.com/

    Thank you for your advice. modlook tag added.
    BUT this is not an issue with my PC, this is an issue generated by WP.
    It started about a month ago after the development team were obviously tinkering around. Just in case, I tried it on another blog I run, same effect.

    What browser and version are you using? Or is the issue within the desktop app?
    Are you using any browser extensions or add ons?
    Have you tried to clear your browser cache already?

    Hi there.

    Firefox ver 50.0.2.
    Opera version 42.0.2393.85

    Forum not a web page, thoughtfullyprepping.wordpress.com
    No addon’s in either browser

    Cache cleared prepeatedly.
    Tried restarting both browsers between failure attempts
    Same fault.

    Trying to housekeep blog of seleected old entries.
    960 in trash, cannot clear trash, keeps coming up a 302 error, wait a minute then try again.
    Only when displaying trash list, nothing has been permantly deleted.

    So can someone please delete all items in my trash folder?

    Hi Paul –

    There are 2 ways to permanently remove the posts from your trash. Through the new editor, by going to My Sites > Posts > Trash (from the top) and then clicking the red trash can labeled delete permanently. This route will allow you to permanently trash individual posts – and with 900+ it is going to take a bit.

    Another way to get there is through the classic, wp-admin dashboard. You can access that here: https://thoughtfullyprepping.wordpress.com/wp-admin/ On the left, find Posts and click on it. At the top of the page, click on Trash, and then you’ll see the first toggle box that says Bulk Actions. You can toggle that to permanently delete.

    I’ll be happy to do this for you if you continue having errors, but wanted to double check that it is the posts listed at: https://thoughtfullyprepping.wordpress.com/wp-admin/edit.php?post_status=trash&post_type=post that you are looking to permanently remove. This is permanent and we can’t get them back.
