I cannot find the name servers of my domain.

Hello, hope you are having a good day. I recently created a domain as part of a trial to upgrade my account. However, I decided to move to another hosting service and thought it had be done at the moment. Therefore I proceeded to delete my domain from your servers, which has now rendered the domain stuck. Is it possible to check the domain name servers once is no longer in my menu? I can still access the web site data through the other hosting provider. But cannot get access to it my ordinary means. Any suggestions, please?

    Hi!

The issue is that you no longer own the domain aventuur.com so you will not be able to change the name servers. When a domain is cancelled from WordPress.com, it goes into a bit of a limbo before it becomes available again for registration. This normally takes 1-3 weeks to clear up. Then, you can re-register it elsewhere.

Alternatively, if you want to use the domain sooner, I can reach out to the registrar to restore it to your account at WordPress.com. Then, you can point the domain elsewhere by changing the name servers and transfer the domain after 60 days.

Let me know if you would like to wait or if you would like me to restore the domain to your account!

    Hi Jeremy,

Thanks for looking into this. So, if I wait 1-3 weeks, can I just go back and assign the name server to “aventuur.com” with my hosting service? Or do I have to pay again for the re-register?

Alternatively, if you restore my registrar within WP.com, would I have to pay again for the registrar and then transfer it after 60 days, although I have already paid another provider for the domain? :(

    Thanks!

Good news – it looks like aventuur.com is available for registration! That happened quicker than expected.

If you would like to use it with your hosting service, you will need to pay to register the domain. That’s completely separate than paying to host the domain. You’ll need to pay the registration fee in order to own the domain and be able to set the name servers. Can you give that a try at your host? They should have instructions on registering a domain.
