I cannot insert image

I have tried many times to insert picture (image). Once I got the last page and I press “INSERT IMAGE IN POST” the box went blank and nothing happen. I tried many times and I reduced the image size to 83KB but still did not get through until now. It’s not as easy as the old design … PLEASE HELP …!!!! It’s so frustrating .. already 45 minutes I have tried it and I’am tired …

I have the same problem, except sometimes it works out, sometimes it doesn’t. Have no idea what makes the difference. It drives me crazy :-(

I have the newest version of flash player, and besides it seems this would only solve an upload problem, which I do not have. The image uploads just fine, the problem occurs when I try to insert it into the post: I click «insert into post», then the box turns blank (all white) and stays that way, until I close it, and nothing is inserted into the post. Except sometimes it works anyway. But the type of image, everything is the same, so I can’t tell why.

I am having the same problem – image uploads, but will not insert into post.
ALso, my entire gallery of pics is gone. Nothing there at all.
ANy way to retrieve? The posts still show pics. -

A correction to above post – I have found my pics under MEDIA, not gallery.
But I am still not able to insert any pic into post. -
Image uploading and INSERTING of images is all flash based now, and making sure you are using the latest version of flash is quite important. Flash 9, the current version has had many revisions. It is now on r115. Download and install it and see if that doesn’t make a difference.
And before you again try to insert an image, log out, clear your browser cache and cookies and log back in and then give it a try.

Another little point is that if you are on Linux, the shockwave flash plugin for Linux has some bugs, and there is nothing wordpress can do about the bugs in the plugin. Adobe has to address them and no one knows when that will be.

markadams: Are you sure your gallery is gone? I noticed it is now called “Media Liberary”, whereas “Gallery” concerns only the post you are working on. So if you have not uploaded any images for this specific post, the gallery should be empty.
By the way, I use Firefox for mac, seems a lot of Firefox users have problems? And the same for Safari, of course, but less for IE users?

thesacredpath: yes, my first answer was for you, so YES I read the link and even tested to see that I ACTUALLY have the latest version of flash 9, e.g. r115. Unfortunately this does not help.

I have the latest Flash and sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn’t. Upload is fine but insertion gives me a blank box and nothing happens. Why did WordPress change something that was working? It is very frustrating when something that works fine is “improved” and does not work as well as it used to. I do not like the new interface, the old one worked better. I use WP because it is easy and intuitive. When you completely redesign and interface, we have to learn it all over again. If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.

I just managed to both upload and insert images in Opera and Safari, but still not in Firefox. I really hope this bug will be fixed, since I’m not happy at all to change browser.

There is sometimes a bug in Gallery. Even though it will state, for example, “Gallery (1),” indicating a successful upload, the image will not appear there. Click on Media Library and it will be the top in the list. Then click on that to expand for the dialog box:

This is hilarious. I keep testing, results until now (for mac):
Firefox: Uploads, but cannot insert images.
Opera: Inserts, but cannot not upload.
Safari: Test winner, both uploads and inserts.
