  I cannot pay for a membership at the checkout. It is telling me to contact WordPress.

  Correct account: Yes

  Hi,

  I have confirmed that. I also have purchased other things on other websites after this error showed up on WordPress. I have more then enough for this subscription and it works on other reputable sites.

  That is the official error.
