I cannot remove the robots.txt file on my website – how can I do this?
-
The robots.txt appeared without me stting it up and I cannot remove it. It has disabled links to various google searches and my traffic is reduced by 1000%.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

hughcrosfield.wordpress.com. – from Is My Blog Working – shows – you can’t remove the robots.txt file at WordPress.COM
Your robots.txt file is valid and allows search engines to index your content.
Your blog is indexed by Google (318 results). -
Thanks auxclass. I’m fairly new to blogging with wordpress.
Internet searches that used to provide links to my blog no longer list me at all. For example anti-apartheid geographies would have the blog third and fourth on the first page. Do that search now and the site doesnt come up at all. All the links other than through the blog name disappeared from 3rd/4th Jan this year – since then my traffic has been down tenfold. I wondered if this robots.txt file was the culprit?

it’s not your robots file

100 tags on one of your Posts is not helping – 10 to 12 max categories & tags combined
Your blog does not have a lot of fresh content – that can hurt
Google changes the search algorithms on a regular basis – they had some sort of a change last year and my traffic went up a bunch even on older Posts – so changes work both ways

100 tags?
I try to stick to 5 or 6 specifically on topic; more as keywords or categories I guess.

Thanks – I will remove those tags. Schoolboy error. Need to work out how to do different pages on Bueno rather than have it all on one page.

-
Thanks auxclass – that helped. Now how to get back up the google rankings on key search terms?
