I cannot summarize posts on my home page

    I want my home page to list my posts, just the title and first few lines. This happens on my pages but for some reason on my home page the whole post appears ans I cannot find the tool to shorten it. The home page was static with a photo and I changed it to list my posts, and I lost the photos and also was unable to shorten the posts.

    When I set up this page two years ago it was much easier to work with. Now you have layered in another set of pages which are hard to use. Very frustrating.
