I can’t acces my admin page after I changed setting –> general –> http to https

  I have an urgent problem! I cannot access my page after I changed the link from http to https. I instantly got ‘Can’t connect to server’. I have no idea what to do or how to change it back. I know that there is no SSL certificate etc.

  Hello. The site http://contechxtdk.wordpress.com/ is connecting fine, there’s a Comming Soon page when I click on it.
  WordPress don’t allow you to disable SSL certificate and all HTTP requests are redirected to HTTPS.

  Hi @mathiastachieda,

  It is actually a big problem. In order to check further, could you please share the link for which you changed from HTTP to HTTPS?

  As for the websites hosted on WordPress.com even on free plan come with HTTPS by default, if your website is using the open source self-hosted version of WordPress( WordPress.org) then you need to discuss it with your hosting provider. They should be able to give you more information about getting with the set-up.

  Hi!

  I think that wordpress is just used as CMS. I have reached out to my hosting provider in hopes of fixing it. As of now, I can’t even access the login page. Nothing will connect to the server.

  The link before was (http://www.micar.dk) and inside general, I changed the two adresses to (https://www.micar.dk).

  Right after I did the change, the website stopped working and I was shown a “safari can’t open the page”.

  Your site isn’t hosted at WordPress. Is hosted elsewhere and uses WordPress.org software to build the site. You’ve done the right thing reaching out to your provider.
