I can’t access my WordPress site after receiving an e-mail declaring there’s a technical error

    Hello.

    I received this email:

[WINGENS LLC – INTERNATIONAL INDUSTRY CONSULTANCY] Your Site is Experiencing a Technical Issue

    Howdy!

Since WordPress 5.2 there is a built-in feature that detects when a plugin or theme causes a fatal error on your site, and notifies you with this automated email.

In this case, WordPress caught an error with one of your plugins, Yoast SEO.

First, visit your website (http://wingens.com/) and check for any visible issues. Next, visit the page where the error was caught (http://wingens.com/wp-login.php) and check for any visible issues.

Please contact your host for assistance with investigating this issue further.

If your site appears broken and you can’t access your dashboard normally, WordPress now has a special ‘recovery mode’. This lets you safely login to your dashboard and investigate further.

    http://wingens.com/wp-login.php?action=enter_recovery_mode&rm_token=sxwSvzMeYlLl1m4qArUhgs&rm_key=Pxk7Bk1HUiTRVIn4yL3Jaw

To keep your site safe, this link will expire in 1 day. Don’t worry about that, though: a new link will be emailed to you if the error occurs again after it expires.

When seeking help with this issue, you may be asked for some of the following information:
    WordPress version 5.6
Current theme: Zerif Lite Child (version 1.8.4.9.1473990394)
Current plugin: Yoast SEO (version 15.6.2)
    PHP version 7.4.19

    Error Details
    =============
An error of type E_COMPILE_ERROR was caused in line 3 of the file /mnt/web503/c1/04/5112504/htdocs/WordPress_01/wp-content/plugins/wordpress-seo/src/repositories/indexable-repository.php. Error message: Namespace declaration statement has to be the very first statement or after any declare call in the script

I can’t log in to my site, not even with the recovery link which is automatically included in the email.

What can I do – please help. I need the site up and running asap.

Your help is very much appreciated – thank you!

    Best,
    Andrea

The site I need help with is [visible only to staff] (email visible only to moderators and staff). It is not hosted by WordPress.com, but it is connected with Jetpack.

It looks like your site is not hosted with WordPress.com. It is a site using the open-source WordPress software (from WordPress.org) but hosted elsewhere.

Because WordPress.com and WordPress.org are two entirely separate entities, we cannot access files or data for sites that are hosted elsewhere, so WordPress.com staff can only assist with sites that are hosted on our servers.

You can find more information here about the differences between WordPress.org software and WordPress.com: https://wordpress.com/support/com-vs-org/

The WordPress.org forums are a great resource for sites using the open source WordPress.org software, and you can find support for that at: https://wordpress.org/support/forum/how-to-and-troubleshooting

You can also reach out to your host for help with this. Since they’re hosting your site’s files, they also have access to those files and could also be able to help you here.
