I can't access the domain website I purchased

So I originally bought my domain name snswriters.com and then I tried to add a hosting to it through hostgator.com. I’m not sure if that is what messed up my site or what. Now when I log into my username I have a new site which is snswriters.wordpress.com. That site has none of the editions that I added to the snswriters.com site. My snswriters.com site still exists because you can still search it. I just want to be able to get back into my site website and continue editing it. I am also wondering if I even have to go through hostgator to get hosting. I am very new to this and the mess up is most likely my fault, but I just need some help. I also tried to add my postitnote user name to the snswriters.com site and then deleted it. I’m not sure if that had anything to do with it. Can someone please help!

Congratulations! The nameservers appear to be set up correctly for snswriters.com.
snswriters.com is set as the primary domain for snsports.wordpress.com and will appear in the address bar when you visit the site.
It can take as long as 72 hours for DNS changes to become widely available. If you’re still not seeing your site loading at snswriters.com, please wait a few more hours, clear your browser cache, http://en.support.wordpress.com/browser-issues/#clear-your-cache-and-cookies and try again.

It’s not uncommon for the last place to flush their DNS caches to be your own ISP. You can view the DNS changes here > http://www.whatsmydns.net/ What’s important during this stage is to be patient.

Ok so are you saying the two sites still need time to merge into one site? Like is snswriters.com merging into snswriters.wordpress.com? Because if you search one or the other they are completely different. Also I can no longer edit or even access snswriters.com but I can edit and mess with snswriters.wordpress.com

The domain snswriters.com is registered here at WordPress.com, but it was registered by a different WordPress.com account (not your account postitnotesports). It’s completely separate from the WordPress.com site you own at snswriters.wordpress.com.
To get back into your site snswriters.com (to manage the site and the domain) you’ll need to log in to the WordPress.com account you used to set it up. If you’re having trouble logging in to the correct account for that, please follow the steps in our Account Recovery guide for more help.
