I can’t add authors to my blog

Add topic to favorites
Whenever I tryto lok for existing users, it says “this user cannot be found”, but the username is activated and so.
Can anybody help me

As I’m not entirely clear what you are expressing I’m providing a lot of information some of which may not be applicable.

Please proceed to the FAQs blog and type in these tags.
(1) privacy
(2) can I password protect my whole blog?
(3) can I password protect posts?
(4) authors and users
(5) roles

In the event that you are having trouble with adding users to your blog the FAQs blog tags 4 & 5 I gave you above will lead you to the information you need to do that. Once you add them they must register with wordpress in order for them to posts to your blog. If they do not choose to have a blog then you will not be able to contact them by their username.

If you cannot find a particular blogger by their username then be aware that they could have a private blog. Also be aware that we can all have multiple blogs. In addition we can have multiple usernames. WordPress.com does not give out any personal information so a username may not help you find a particular blogger’s blog.

Just to be clear, when adding users to your blog, you have to search for them by their email address and wordpress.com will automatically add them to your blog with their username.

Not trying to give a silly answer but the times this has come up in the past, all but once it’s been because the admin didn’t have the correct email address that the user had signed up with. For example we had a teather trying to imput their class and he was using their school email account while the students had used their offsite account.

YEah, after a while I figured it out that WORDPRESS searches the usernames by their e-mails. Thanks a lot!
